I spent most of 2022 in cancer treatment. 17 rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, 33 rounds of radiation, countless scans, ultrasounds, bloodwork, and driving back and forth from Marfa to El Paso are behind me. I had my last round of infusions in October followed by a scan that came back with no signs of cancer. It was an incredibly long and difficult year.
Last year on New Year's Eve I was laying in bed sick from chemo wondering if I'd see another year. So as I dance my way into 2023, I'll be doing it with gratitude. I know I say it all the time now, but IÂ am grateful to be alive. At midnight I will kiss the love of my life and enter 2023 with love.Â
